EmpowerU: Using tech to display government colleges in Jharkhand

For over two years now, faculties in Giridih district in Jharkhand have seen accelerated teacher attendance and good midday meals. All thanks to EmpowerU, an era platform that sa looks at authorities’ school situations, tracks and brings real-time statistics from the colleges without the use of the net, analyses it to come across crucial issues, and recommends brilliant movements to administrators.

The headmaster of each college marks students’ attendance using the cell app, and all departs taken with the aid of instructors and college students are tracked. The college must also provide an update about the noon meal scheme and sanitation facilities. The collected records are checked by a cluster resource coordinator tracking about 15-20 schools. Subsequently, the records are going to the deputy commissioner to restore the troubles.

“There has been a boom in trainer attendance from fifty-eight percent to more than 86 percent, an increase in noon meal serving to greater than ninety percent through real-time evaluation of funds and grains provided and students served and progressed infrastructure and primary facilities via smart difficulty detection and grievance redressal,” says IIT Kanpur alumnus Onkar Prasad. The bootstrapped employer raised finances through the Invent program of the United Kingdom government, Villgro Innovation Foundation, Technology Development Board, and SIIC IIT Kanpur, supported by Social Alpha (Tata Trusts). The business enterprise, headquartered at the Sidbi Innovation & Incubation Center (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, was bootstrapped with approximately ₹30 lakh and has acquired a seed investment of ₹50 lakh.

Promorph works on the Software as a Service version. “We’re doing real-time monitoring and assessment of presidency faculties on an everyday foundation, and the utility runs without a net,” says Prasad. “Currently, we’re working with the governments of Jharkhand and Odisha, and 1,500 faculties in Jharkhand and a pair of,000 schools in Odisha are using this app.” All the colleges have also been geo-tagged and geo-mapped. “It was vital to ensure we got correct records from the headmaster. To avoid any discrepancies, we gathered the data of each faculty member and mapped it,” says Prasad.

The Kanpur-primarily based startup is getting sales from the authorities for its services—it charges ₹150-250 per month, according to the college. “We’re planning to paint with the authorities of UP, Bihar, Goa, and Karnataka. We’re also operating on a task with a chain of private colleges. Besides imparting statistics, the plan is likewise to provide consulting within the future,” says Prasad, including that they’re trying to affect five million students within the following years.
